Each reader is a 12 page booklet which should be read every day. This will improve reading fluency, pronunciation, build vocabulary, improve word-order, confidence, competence and of course develop reading comprehension skills. At the start of each book there is a dictionary page and there are questions at the end of each book.
The yellow workbooks, which accompany each set of readers, are intended to develop comprehension, Afrikaans grammar, vocabulary, phonics, spelling, written expression and more. While providing plenty of repetition and practice, they also include fun activities such as crossword puzzles and word searches.
Students that are beginning Afrikaans as their second language should start at Level 0. Each level should take about 16 weeks to complete, if used as intended, leaving ample time to add other Afrikaans workbooks to your curriculum.
The readers have one sentence per page in the present tense and introduce the character Stoute Neels, his family and friends.
